Adrian Kopystynski, M.Sc. (Planning), B.Sc. (Physics), Cert. E.D., MCIP, MCAHP, the owner of GreenCity Planning Services, is an award winning* professional planner with over 30 years of experience at the municipal planning level, including Delta, Vancouver, Surrey, Abbotsford, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. Adrian’s expertise includes land development process management, Facilitating public meetings, preparing land use plans, and formulating policies, using sustainability principles to creating value for clients. He is a respected Heritage Planner, specializing in preparation of Statements of Significance, and negotiating heritage revitalization agreements.

Bill Low, B. Eng (Engineering Management), M.Sc. (Planning), MCIP, P. Eng., is a professional planner and engineer with extensive experience managing publicly owned property and facilities at the federal, municipal, and school district level. He is president of Cascade Facilities Management Consultants Ltd (www.cascade-cslts.com). He is widely recognized by his peers as a leader in facilities management. His expertise includes: long-term Facility Plans and Project Identification Reports for School Districts, assistance to organizations seeking to hire new Facilities directors and managers, and plan preparation and training related to Emergency Management.

 

Chris Knoll, B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Forestry), is a Certified Sustainability Professional and LEED Green Associate* with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Implementation Training. He has extensive business management experience in areas of team building, business planning, product and market research and development. Chris is passionate about helping organizations understand sustainability as a business proposition. He brings proven interpersonal and organizational abili9es to help organizations create strategies, drive team performance and achieve financial goals while reducing impact on the environment.

Gloria Venczel, BES, B. Arch, MRAIC, MCIP, is a diversified professional, having worked in the private, public and NGO sectors promoting sustainable community development and design. She is a registered professional planner with a decade of experience in planning, urban design and facilitation, as well as having spent another decade in private architectural practice on mixed use and residential design projects.

 

Karen Kreis, BA (Political Science), MEDes (Urban Planning), Provisional Member CIP, is a professional planner, combining 18 years of experience in the tourism industry and in managing public consultation, with her land use planning, community development, and social planning expertise. Karen is highly skilled at community capacity building through an inclusive consultative approach, and assessing how key organizations, institutions, or groups can respond more effectively to the needs of local communities.

 

Kris Nichols, B.Ss., M.U.R.P., MCIP, has over 20 years of planning experience working for various municipalities and regional districts primarily in the capacity of a planner and/or administrator. He has worked in all three levels of government assisting communities with their growth and development, with emphasis on collaborative approaches with the public. He has experience in all aspects Official Community Plan development from visioning to policy and goal identification through to bylaw adoption and implementation in communities across BC. He is also familiar with all aspects of land use planning and development. His expertise includes capacity building and achieving collaborative solutions on common issues involving focus groups, community organizations, Advisory Planning Commissions, elected officials, and First Nations.

 

Les King, P. Eng, DPSM, BScE, is a Professional Engineer whose career includes municipal engineering and school district facilities management. His broad experience includes emergency preparedness, strategic planning, project management, change management, process analysis, and capital planning. As a former City Engineer with the cities of Delta, Nanaimo and Powell River, BC and Director of Facilities with the Vancouver School Board, he has provided consulting services to municipalities and school boards throughout British Columbia.

 

Stuart Jones, M.A. (Planning), B.A. (Geography & Economics), MCIP, has worked over the past 20 years with new methods of integration of databases along with other research methods and techniques involving GIS. He is involved in long range community planning policy services that include land use, social planning, housing and environmental research. His current interests include the use of GIS technology and long range forecasting (i.e. population and employment) and the development of new growth models. He has worked for the City of Vancouver, New Westminster, and Richmond and is currently employed as a Senior Planner at the City of Surrey. Stuart is also the GIS instructor in the Applied Urban and Rural Planning program at Langara College.

 

Terry Lyster, B.Arch, is a seasoned planner, urban designer, and illustrator with more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Terry's experiences include: military engineering, design, building and project management, and planning for Surrey, North Vancouver, Langley, Mission & Abbotsford. Terry served for 7 years as Langley’s Director of Planning, was a member of Surrey’s Heritage Advisory Commission, and has extensive experience as a development planner, approving officer, facilitator, and negotiator. He has been involved in economic development, project managing BC’s first CoHousing project, and exploring energy alternatives.
